Whether you’re thinking of joining us, hiring us, or hearing about the great things we are getting up to, we hope our brand new site gives you a real flavour of what our group is about.

Republic of Swing play samba as powerfully and authentically as possible, with ‘Coraçao’, respect and love for the inspirational rhythms of Brazil.  Unlike many other percussion groups we focus on Rio Carnival Samba (Batucada) and the latest Samba-Funk grooves.  Anyone is welcome to come down to our rehearsals, and we hold open beginners’ sessions where those without drumming and dancing experience can learn how it’s done.  We are also developing a smaller group to do more club gigs.
